Woollen Woods Workshop
Come and see Anne Clarke's Woollen Woods. There are 143 artists taking part in this year's Arts Festival Trail at 55 different venues across Belper. Anne will be making her quirky and colourful woollen birds at Strutt's North Mill and they will then be displayed among the trees on Belper Parks. Come and see how it's done and have a go yourself.

To join the Arts Trail, buy a badge for £3 from Strutt's North Mill and this entitles you to visit all 55 sites simply by showing your badge. Accompanying the badge will be a booklet to tell you where they all are. And at Strutt's North Mill you'll also get to see our current temporary exhibition, Sylvan - A Photographic Exploration of Derbyshire's Woodlands at no extra cost. Please note our normal admission price applies if you want to visit the rest of the Museum.

Heritage Walk: Belper and Morley Park Railway
Led by Trevor Griffin, this walk follows part of an early horse-worked railway, built between 1815 and 1842 to carry coal from coal mines around Denby to Belper. It first follows the final alignment, with a rope-worked incline down into the Henmore Valley and then returns along the original route that pursued a winding course to climb the same hill. Distance 2 miles, with some stiles and rough ground - stout footwear advised.
£4 per person, under-16s free (payments to the walk leader on the day)
Start Point: Openwoodgate Crossroads (DE56 0SD). You can pre-book on 01773 880474 or just turn up at the start point.
