Local Events in Belper
30th Apr & 1st May
Woolen Woods Workshop
Strutt’s North Mill is once again involved in the Belper Arts Trail on Sunday 30th April and Monday 1st May. We are a ticket sale point this year, so you can start the Trail from the North Mill. Trail Guides and badges are for sale for £3 and will give you access to a wide range of venues and over 130 artists.
In addition the North Mill Museum will be open from 10.30am until 4.30pm, with a FREE Woolen Woods Workshop in the Upper Wheel Pit. This is your chance to contribute items to the incredible Woolen Woods installation happening in Belper Parks during May.
The wood will once again be full of knitted, crocheted, felted animals, vegetation and fantastic story trees. Most pieces have been made by local people keen to be part of Belper Arts Festival and as in previous years the installation will delight visitors of all ages.
The magic begins on May 12th when pieces are attached to the trees and will remain until May 21st. The woods at this time of year are full of bluebells both knitted, crocheted and natural. It is a wonderful place for photographers and those who enjoy exploring. The area can be accessed from The Coppice Car Park, Mill Lane and The Fleet.
